NSFW: A Hunter Shoots a Bear

In case you missed it, today’s viral marketing is courtesy of Tipp-Ex, a German maker of white out. While I am not planning on buying white out to use on my computer screen (apologies to blondes who have suffered though all of those jokes), this is better than Burger King’s Subservient Chicken. While this is interactive, it is not as customized as the Old Spice campaign from earlier this summer.

This is a great little hack. Note that the numbers on the page don’t increase with views. Animal rights activists will be pleased to note that the bear usually wins.

It is still summer vacation so my daughter and had fun finding words to type in. some are hilarious. There are also two or three for words that don’t work. We couldn’t find a comprehensive list anywhere online so we made our own.

    We had that one for “plays with” which is coming up as something different. You get the same as “soccer” with just about any sport. I’m sure the hunter liked filming that one best.

    We found the “soccer” click when Violet suggested “plays chess with”. It seems that just about any sport or game brings up that one. We had it down as “plays with” but that looks to be rock, paper, scissors.

    I disagree. This is an Easter Egg hunt. I doubt many people will search for all of these and more (or even watch all of the ones listed here). I wouldn't have done so many if it weren't part of today's “summer camp”. This was pure entertainment.

    I agree with the “More is Less” concept. I remember in the early 1990's when I had friends from Germany visiting. We went to the supermarket, and they walked up and down the cereal aisle perplexed. “Why do you have so many kinds of cereal to choose from?” Their plates remained empty for a few minutes as they walked back and forth at the salad bar at RJ's restaurant. I remember shortly thereafter my friend Delphine from Belgium marveling at the size of the Sunday LA Times.

    While we have too much choice, I don't think that this is an example of it. Some of the clips aren't as strong as others, but we sure had fun finding the best ones and laughed at most of them. If the writing weren't as good as it was for this stunt, then maybe it would have been less.
